Halide Analysis
Ion-selective electrodes quantify the levels of halide ions in solution. Halide ions include fluoride, chloride, bromide, and iodide. Liquid samples can be measured directly, and solid samples can be extracted and the extract tested by this method. The halide content is measured separately for each halide using an electrode specific to that element.
The electrode potential for the sample is plotted against a calibration curve generated from measurements of halide standards. Each halide is calibrated and analyzed separately.
Applications:
- Contamination analysis
- Deformulation analysis
- Water quality analysis
