Polymer Structure Analysis

Polymer blends and copolymer systems are utilized in many industrial applications. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) can be used to analyze polymer samples, raw materials, and blends. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) provides highly detailed chemical structure information that can be used to enhance the FTIR spectral data sets.

Examples:

  • Quantity of Nylon 6 in Nylon 6/6
  • Vinyl Acetate content in ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers
  • Polypropylene and polyethylene mixtures and copolymers
  • Stabilizers and process aids
