Rubber Seals

A client requested analysis to identify the reason for differing performance of two EPDM rubber seals that were supposed to be of the same composition.

Durometer testing indicated that the two seals had different hardness’s and thermogravimetric analysis showed that there were different amounts of both oil and filler in the materials indicating significantly different compound formulations for the two seal materials.
