What a year it has been at SGS Polymer Solutions!
This week, we wrapped up 2018 with a holiday party, complete with festive holiday decor, treats, and delicious food catered by Moe’s Southwest Grill (yum!). It only seemed fitting to refer to our party as the Feliz Navidad Party.
Our team was able to reflect on this past year and talk about their favorite projects and their favorite blog posts. One PSI staff member was heard saying, “Our Christmas lunch was a time to stop, enjoy one another’s company, and enjoy a little bit of competition!”
It wouldn’t be an SGS PSI Christmas party without a little friendly competition. Our team participated in a game of White Elephant (also known as Yankee Swap)! If you’re not familiar with this holiday game, here’s how it’s played:
Each person gets a number. Going in numerical order, each player has the choice either to pick a present from under the tree or to steal someone else’s gift. Once everyone has picked their present, the person who went first gets the chance to keep their gift or steal a gift from anyone.
This years theme was “nerdy gifts.” What constitutes a nerdy gift? Some of the gifts included a robot dinosaur kit (including a dinosaur Pez dispenser), a watercolor set, a conspiracy theory book, and a Rock ’Em Sock ’Em Robots game.
Parties like this one are essential to our “work hard, play hard” motto here at SGS PSI. Our teams work very hard under tight timelines to get clients’ projects done. Taking time to play and enjoy one another’s company is an intentional part of keeping our teams strong and collaborative.
Take a look at our photo gallery below for a peek into all of the festive fun!
Did you notice the ornaments on the Christmas tree? Those ornaments were also part of a contest. Members of our staff were asked to bring in an ornament that represented themselves in some way. Everyone got a ballot and tried to guess whose ornament was whose. Julie, our Associate Scientist, won the contest (and a gift card!), with 9 out of 16 correct guesses!
Of course, we could not wrap up our year without mentioning our wonderful clients. We sincerely thank you for trusting us with your analytical testing challenges.
If you need help with materials testing in the new year, we encourage you to reach out to us. Our experienced scientists are always up for a challenge when it comes to independent, analytical tests. We are looking forward to the exciting things to come in 2019!
Happy Holidays from our team at SGS Polymer Solutions!
