About Thermal Testing

When there are issues with raw materials, or undesireable product characteristics begin to surface, we frequently turn to thermal analysis methods.  Thermal Analysis is a great way to test product lots of raw materials to make sure they will behave properly when exposed to extreme pressure and temperature.

  • Approaches

Thermal techniques can reveal a lot of information regarding the conditions or processing history of a sample, as well as the affects dynamic processing conditions will have on polymer materials.

Methods we use for Thermal Analysis include:

    • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
    • Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
    • Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA)
    • Melt Flow Index (MFI)
    • Rheology

  • Products we've tested

Examples of products we frequently test with Thermal Analysis are:

    • Raw Materials
    • Thermosets
    • Composites
    • Recycled and Reground Material
    • Good vs. Bad Material Comparisons
  • Applications

Thermal testing techniques have a wide variety of applications.  Some of the most common applications we use these testing methods for include:

    • Quality Control Assurance
    • Routine Testing
    • Competitor Product Analysis
    • Additives Analysis
    • Method Development
